The Eye Doctor Antibacterial Dry Eye Compress is a reusable hot and cold eye mask that externally heats the eyelids, which stimulates the glands to give relief from any tension or irritation of the eyes. There is strong scientific research showing that gently heating the eyelid to the recommended temperature will help treat various conditions, including but not limited to dry eyes, blepharitis and MGD.

This fabric is antimicrobial to the three leading causative microorganisms of eye infections and that associated with Dry Eye development.

Can I use the Eye Doctor compress cold?

Yes, you can, however, if you choose to use it cold, then we recommend putting the eye compress in a freezer bag and placing it in the freezer, rather than the fridge.

My eye compress doesn't get hot enough

Our eye compress has been designed to heat up to just a couple of degrees past body temperature. It is supposed to be a comfortable warmth, rather than being hot. It can be heated for 30 seconds and another further five seconds if preferred, but no more.

Why isn't the eye compress helping my dry eye symptoms?

It can take regular use to alleviate your dry eye symptoms. For best results, we recommend that you use the eye compress twice a day, every day for two weeks.

Does the eye compress contain latex?

Yes, there are traces of latex within the strap that fastens around the back of your head.

How often should I wash my eye compress?

We recommend washing your compress at least once a week, but if your dry eye symptoms are more severe, we would recommend washing it more often.

Can your eye compresses be heated in a combi microwave?

Our eye compresses can be heated in a combi microwave as long as the oven/grill element is switched off (please refer to your manufacturers instructions to see if this is possible).

Compress: self-hydrating BodyBeads®, made of medical grade silica

Biodegradable Eyelid Wipes: 0.9% Sodium Chloride

Directions

1. HEAT the compress for 15-25 Secs in the microwave. Apply to your closed eyes. Fasten the strap around your head and adjust for personal comfort. Sit back and relax for 7 to 10 minutes.
2. Massage the eyelid. For the upper eyelids: Slide your finger in a downward fashion. This is to apply pressure from the eyebrow downwards to the eyelashes of the upper lids. For the lower eyelids: Slide your finger upwards towards the eyelashes of your lower lids.
3. Wipe away any secretions on the eyelids/lashes using the wipes included

If you need an alternative way to use the compress, simply recline your head back and apply the eye compress to your eyes.

Use a fresh wipe for each eye. Remove contact lenses before use. For external use only.

Do not use this product if you are hypersensitive or allergic to any of its ingredients. If you experience any signs of an allergic reaction, such as itching, redness, swelling, or discomfort, discontinue use immediately and consult with your healthcare professional.
