Accelerates skin regeneration

Our skin works hard to protect our bodies, but sometimes it can become very dry, cracked and irritated as a result. It needs SOS care. Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm gives dry to very dry, cracked and irritated skin the SOS care that it needs. The water-free ointment forms a gentle, semi-occlusive, protective barrier over the skin that supports the natural transfer of water vapour and oxygen to and from the skin, allowing the skin to ‘breathe’ and strengthening its natural protective barrier. The balm is enriched with Glycerin and Panthenol. Glycerin is an effective moisturiser that attracts water and helps to keep it in the skin. It works alongside Panthenol which helps to speed up regeneration and repair while also moisturising skin.

Clinical and dermatological studies on Eucerin Aquaphor demonstrate its effectiveness (both overall and on specific parts of the body) and its skin tolerability (both overall and in terms of being non-comedogenic).

The soothing, transparent ointment is easy to apply and massages gently into problem areas of skin such as the knees and elbows, cracked knuckles and cuticles and cracked heels. With only a few ingredients, it is well tolerated by sensitive skin and is suitable for use on babies and children as well as on minor burns and on skin after superficial dermatological procedures such as laser treatments and chemical peels*. Skin is regenerated, protected and repaired.

*Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm should only be used on re-epithelialized skin (i.e. once new tissue has formed) and not on open, wet or bleeding wounds. Ask your Dermatologist for advice on how long you should wait after treatment before using the product.

  • Accelerates skin regeneration
  • Can be used anywhere on both your face and body
  • Clinically proven to repair dry to very dry, cracked or irritated skin
  • Fragrance and preservative-free

Can I use Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm to care for wounds?

Yes, but the product should not be applied to open, bleeding or wet wounds. Wait until new tissue has formed (the medical term for this is re-epithelialisation) before applying the ointment. If you are in any way concerned about the time a wound is taking to heal, or think it may have become infected, consult your doctor for advice.

Once re-epithelialisation has occurred, Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm creates a protective barrier to support the skin regeneration and is clinically and dermatologically proven to protect and soothe dry, cracked or irritated skin.

Is Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm suitable for use on my baby's skin?

Yes, the ointment is ideal for use on patches of dry skin on your baby’s face or in the nappy area. It only contains a few gentle but effective ingredients and is fragrance- and preservative-free, and so is suitable for your baby’s sensitive skin. If your baby has Atopic Dermatitis (commonly known as Eczema), we recommend that you use products from the Eucerin AtoControl range, which have been specially formulated for atopic skin.

My skin is prone to acne. Can I still use this?

Yes, because it has been clinically and dermatologically proven to be non-comedogenic (which means that it does not cause blemishes). However, if your primary skin concern is acne, we recommend that you use products from the Eucerin DermoPurifyer range, which have been specially formulated for blemish-prone skin.

I've recently had laser therapy and/or chemical peel, is it ok for me to use this?

Yes. Eucerin Aquaphor Soothing Skin Balm is safe to use after laser treatment or a chemical peel and will help support skin regeneration. If you have open wounds on your skin, wait until it has fully re-epithelialised (i.e. when new tissue has formed) before you apply the ointment. If you are in any doubt, ask your dermatologist for advice.
